And so, the soul also needs to be saved. This is what the word of righteousness does: it gives the soul the nutrients it needs to grow out of the old nature and into the new one — the nature called Christ. It is the meat of the word that helps us journey from being children in Christ to becoming men in Christ. We were saved in our spirit, yes — but our soul is still being saved. And that journey is the most important one we will ever take.
